Early
From an early age, R's parents knew she was special. With ten fingers and ten toes, she demonstrated a remarkable capacity for drooling, cooing and giggling as well as developing chubby cheeks that remain with her to this day.
Somewhere in the middle
During the adolescent years (not to be confused with the wonder years) , there was the general angst and torment so oft written about in poetry and the like. Lots of Tori Amos was played. Lots of dark eye make up was worn. Two pairs of Doc Marten boots were defaced, may they rest in peace.
and now-ish
R. Gay (and a few pseudonyms) is a writer of fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction in a wide range of anthologies, magazines, and other such avenues.
